Hi good people, welcome to another edition of the Rebrand Nigeria Ambassadors Series!
We’re excited showcasing great Nigerians to the world. It’s a call for duty for all of us in order to change the bad image of the country, outside the shores of our land.
This morning, we present to you our Rebrand Nigeria Ambassador, Ms Grace Chinonye Ihejiamaizu, a well accomplished young Nigerian social entrepreneur, educator and global change maker with over seven years of experience working in the nonprofit and youth development sector.
Grace is the founder of ikpature Network, an after school program that educates, engages and equips students and out-of-school youths in Nigeria with skills to become leaders and entrepreneurs.
ikapture has reached over 3000 young people since inception. One of the services offered by ikpature is the YLEAD, a six-weeks intensive program, aimed at equipping young people in their transitional years with the necessary leadership, personal development and entrepreneurial skills.
The ikapture Enterprise Development Program (IKEDP) seeks to awaken the “spirit of enterprise“among youths, coupled with training on baking, coding, shoe making, bead making, blogging and graphic designing.
Grace is also the founder of OpportunityDesk.org, one of the largest online platforms that bridge the gap in education by sharing information about relevant learning and growth opportunities for youths around the world.
Through Opportunity Desk, Grace and her team have reached thousands of youths in over 200 countries across the globe. In 2018, alone, Opportunity Desk connected over 1.4million people with opportunities globally.
In 2010, she was conferred with Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) Nigeria’s prestigious award for Excellence in Leadership and Service. In 2011, she was named one of Google’s 12 brightest young minds and a global change maker in 2012. She won the Future Awards Africa Young Person of the year in 2013. She has been actively involved in various community based and youth-led projects under the auspices of various youth organizations.
In 2018, she published her first book, Go Global with Opportunity Desk.
Is Grace Ihejiamaizu not amazing? Join us tomorrow for the showcase of another young and successful Nigerian, contributing to both national and international development.
