The Hon. Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed today received in audience the Rebrand Nigeria Campaign Team led by Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, the President of the Ugwumba Center for Leadership Development in Africa.
Addressing the Hon. Minister, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu informed that the Rebrand Nigeria Campaign is a project of the Ugwumba Leadership Center designed to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s efforts in changing the global image of our country and negative perceptions about our people.
According to him “the Campaign will aggressively showcase the good things about Nigeria, especially hardworking Nigerians who are excelling in the fields of Academics, Medicine, Engineering, Technology, Sports, etc around the world as well as contribute towards re-orientating the mindsets of Nigerians to embrace our national values, become more patriotic and begin to “Think, Nigeria First!”
In his response, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Hon. Minister for Information and Culture commended the President of the Center, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu for introducing such a laudable project aimed at changing the global narratives about Nigeria. He continued by saying that such a gesture is an act of patriotism that must be encouraged and supported by other well meaning Nigerians, within and in Diaspora.
In support of the Rebrand Nigeria Campaign, the Minister promised that all the media agencies under his supervision, such as Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Voice of Nigeria (VON), etc shall give the activities of the center a wide publicity.
He thereafter beckoned on other government agencies and corporate organizations to support the Rebrand Nigeria project since a better country is the desire of all of us.
