Today, we are glad to showcase Mark Anthony Essien, an Akwa Ibom born Nigerian entrepreneur and software developer as our Rebrand Nigeria Ambassador.
Mark is the Founder and CEO of Hotels.ng, the largest online hotel booking company in Nigeria founded in 2013. The company, hotels.ng has raised over $1.5m in Venture Capital to list over 10,000 hotels across 320 cities in Nigeria with pictures and reviews. The site has over 5000 places of interest in Nigeria.
In 2016, he started a Remote Internship Program on software development for young people as a means of availing them the opportunity to transform their ideas into innovative businesses.
Interns are usually presented with real-life challenges which they are expected to solve using programming and design skills.
Mark Essien speaks frequently on TEDx, an international community organized to celebrate locally driven ideas, elevating them to a global stage.
In 2015, he was listed among 21 Nigerian Tech CEOs at top of their games, and also included in the 100 Most Influential Young Nigerians, and Most Influential Young Africans in 2016.
Mark made the Forbes list of 30 Young Entrepreneurs in Africa in 2015.
He is a true motivation to the Nigerian youths.
