Hi good people, welcome to another edition of the Rebrand Nigeria Ambassador Series!
Our Ambassador for today is Miss Chiamaka Nnadozie. She is a Nigerian female international footballer who plays as a goalkeeper.
She made some terrific saves during the 2019 Women’s World Cup with a 2-0 win against South Korea in France. Winning the South Korean team made the Nigerian team (Super Falcons) become the very first African team to win their second group stage game at a Women’s World Cup.
At the age of 12, Chiamaka started playing football and was quickly recruited into Uuder-17 and Under-20 national teams. She has become the youngest goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet in a Women’s World Cup game.
The Super Falcons goalkeeper has been named the best goalkeeper in Africa and the 14th best goalkeeper in the world by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).
Chiamaka currently plays in the Nigeria Women’s football League for Rivers Angels in Portharcourt but is reported to be in talks for a move to Wolfsburg in the German Women’s Bundesliga.
Her performance in 2019 has earned her a nomination in the Confederation of African Football shortlist for the African Women’s Player of the Year.
That’s an impressive one from our girl!
