Hello great people and welcome to our Rebrand Nigeria Ambassadors Series!

Fashion in the 21st Century is like no other century and it is constantly evolving. One of our very own Fashion Designers is taking the world by storm with her creative styles. From her childhood days, she recognized her passion for the fashion industry and she has worked up the ladder of success in that direction. She is Helen Chukwu.

She is the founder/CEO of Helen Couture founded in 2014. The firm currently has outlets in Dubai, London, Los Angeles and Lagos. In 2011, Helen became CEO of Helen La Costura operating in the UK and Nigeria whilst pursuing her Foundation Degree in Arts at Bellerbys College in Brighton, UK. She proceeded to studying Fashion Design at Istituto Marangoni, UK alongside working in Dubai, UK and Lagos. That is not all; Helen attended Institut Villa Pierrefeu in Switzerland in 2016. There, she was exposed to different traditions and cultures that tremendously influenced her ideas for her business.

In 2013, Chukwu hosted a private showcase in London where one of her designs was worn by Katie Cleary to the 2013 Oscar party. In 2015, Helen also participated in Runway Dubai 2015 Spring Collection “Vida Du Lujo”. She also styled Maggie Q at the 2019 Wild Aid Gala Red Carpet in Los Angeles. She has spent an ample amount of time travelling around the world and pulling inspirations from villages, museums etc.

In 2018, Helen Couture Atelier was opened in Lagos in a grand style with many celebrities in attendance. Her collections ranged from bridal dresses to ready-to-wear pieces. She says opening an outlet in Lagos is purposed to “Redefine luxury in Africa”.

The company is also empowering young girls and women with world-class trainings. Helen has worked with famous Nigerian fashion designer, Lanre Da Silva-Ajayi. She has also been featured on Vogue Arabia and is currently one of Forbes Africa’s 30 under 30, 2019.
