On our series today, we have a brilliant award-winning lifestyle journalist and public relations expert. She is the Founder/CEO of Redrick Public Relations Limited. Her name is Ijeoma Balogun.

At age 19, IJ as she is commonly called began her career as a Style Editor of Bella Naija. The style page was viewed by over 2 million people on a monthly basis. She coordinated photo shoots that won the organization the ‘Most Outstanding Contribution to Fashion Communication at the Africa fashion Awards 2010. She also received an award of ‘Fashion Writer of The Year’, 2010.

In 2012, Balogun founded her own PR Company that professionally designs and executes strategically integrated campaigns that support startups and enterprises to innovate, accelerate and grow. Redrick has worked with renowned corporations such as MAC Cosmetics, Food PRO, Coca Cola, Jumia Nigeria, Federal Ministry of Trade and Industry etc. The firm supervised the Heineken Lagos Fashion Week and Lagos Bridal Fashion attracting over 100 million and 50 million media impressions respectively.

IJ has also founded Redrick Accelerate Workshops which is an education platform offering workshops and trainings on media skills to aspiring and practicing media professionals. The project runs 6 training sessions each year and so far, it has impacted over 300 individuals. Many who have participated in the workshops, have gained experience and employability skills.

Ijeoma has received many accolades such as SME 100’s “100 Most Innovative Female- Owned Businesses in Nigeria – 2017, Lioness of Africa Listing “ 41 Nigerian Women Entrepreneurs Putting the Country on a Global Business Map” – 2016, Cosmopolitan Nigeria Listing “ Top 8 Nigerian Fashion Power Brokers” – 2016 to mention a few.
