The US Consulate, Lagos and STEMi Makers Africa in partnership with the Ugwumba Center for Leadership Development in Africa are organizing a Science, Technology and Mathematics Integration Workshop for selected teachers from both public and private secondary schools in Imo State and in the Southeast region.
This training is predicated on the fact that for the Nigerian economy to grow, the Government and other stakeholders must adopt an educational system that supports self-reliance and problem-solving skills among students using science, technology, engineering, mathematics and innovations.
The implementing partner, STEMi Makers Africa founded by Amanda Obidike, one of our Rebrand Nigeria Ambassadors, is an organization that addresses the unemployment challenges in Africa by promoting innovations and training in STEM emerging tools.
Therefore, as one of the leading impact investments, leadership and enterprise development centers in Africa, the Ugwumba Leadership Center is in partnership with STEMi Makers Africa in this project, in order to spark up a new orientation in the educational system in Imo State and in the whole of Southeast region.
The project will be flagged off on Monday, February 01, 2021 at the West Brook Hotels, Owerri, Imo State and the President of the Ugwumba Leadership Center, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu is being expected as the Special Guest of Honour, to declare the event open.
We commend in a special way, the US Consulate Lagos for funding this project as we look forward to changing the narratives in the Nigeria’s education sector, henceforth.
